Florist Avenue Lutheran Assistance
Soup Kichen
Youth and adults together participate in meal preparation, serving, and clean-up at the Agape Community Center, 6100 N. 42 Street. This meal program originally began at Florist Avenue Church in 1986 and moved to the Agape Center last year. Holy Trinity provides volunteers and fruit and 2% milk for the meals the first Tuesday of every month. Volunteers leave the church at 4:00pm and return about 7:00pm. Donated food items supply the food pantry at Florist Avenue Church which then serves 500 people per month.
Donated items greatly appreciated: canned meats, fruits and vegetables, spaghetti sauces, rice, noodles, pastas, cereals, peanut butter and jelly. These items should be put in the trunk located under the Social Ministry bulletin board.
Donations of fresh fruit and 2% milk should be delivered to the church kitchen before noon on the first Tuesday of the month.
