Son Risers Study Group

The Son Risers will begin a new study on August 14th.  We will be doing a chronological overview of the Old Testament.  The study will encompass not only the theological aspects, but also historical, cultural and geographical considerations.  Our text book is the Bible.  We will also be drawing from the Crossways, International Bible study materials as well as a variety of Bible handbooks, notes from The Interpreter’s Bible and various other study Bibles.  The study is presented in a discussion format – participants are encouraged to offer their thoughts and ideas as well as their questions.

The Bible as a whole is a history of God’s revelation of Himself to His people through His saving actions and His abounding grace.  Once we understand the history and the covenants contained in the Old Testament, we are better prepared to understand and appreciate the new covenant in Jesus Christ.

The following is a reading outline for the first segment of our study – The Primeval Story.  Following the conclusion of each segment, the discussion outline will also be posted on the web site for those who are unable to attend the class and would like to study at home.
