Meet Nick Russo, Our Director of Music
I am Nick Russo and am happy to be back in Wisconsin after attending Indiana University in Bloomington for 4 years!

And I am even happier to be at home again in Brookfield with my family. I graduated from Brookfield Central High School in 2006 where I enjoyed the exceptional music program, and this past May I graduated from IU’s Jacob’s School of Music as a vocal major.
I received a Bachelor of Science in Music with an Outside Field in Chemistry degree. I loved my experience at IU’s school of music and had a great time participating in the Marching Hundred, IU’s marching band, as cymbal section leader, and the Singing Hoosiers, Indiana’s traveling show choir.
In addition to majoring in music, my interest in the health profession drove me to take science courses. Along with undertaking the position here at Holy Trinity as interim music director, I am also a full time first-year student at Marquette University’s School of Dentistry.
Musically, I am an accomplished pianist, organist, singer, percussionist and accordion player. Every summer I look forward to performing with my brother Dominic at Milwaukee’s Festa Italiana with our group, “The Russo Brothers,” playing classic Italian songs, Dean Martin, Louis Prima, Frank Sinatra and others. Along with being proficient in Italian-American music, I, of course, am also very familiar with liturgical music.
Throughout high school, I volunteered playing the piano with the guitar mass at St. Luke’s Parish in Brookfield. My musical experience there led me to become the interim music director at the church for a summer until college started. Every summer since, I have been a substitute church musician, which brought me into your Holy Trinity family.
Additionally, throughout my musical career I have had some wonderful opportunities and experiences. When I was just 12 years old, I was part of the Skylight Opera Theater production of “Turn of the Screw” by Benjamin Britten and played the role of Miles. Being a part of the Milwaukee Children’s Choir, I was blessed to have the wonderful opportunity of accompanying the choir on the organ at St. Peter’s Basilica in the Vatican and at other churches throughout Italy. I was also given the opportunity to perform in Carnegie Hall in New York City.
I am very excited to be here at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and I look forward to meeting you, working with you, and making music with you!
